What If...?

Last night, Laura was playing a game of "What If...?" in which she was brainstorming ideas for some stories she might like to write. I always like to try to help Laura, so I decided I would play too.

I didn't come up with as many ideas as Laura, but I had one that I thought was pretty good. How about this:

What if everybody knew that I am a Princess?

What do you think?

I think that could be a good story. Think about it:

1. If everyone knew that I am a Princess, I wouldn't have to be bored anymore when Laura is working on her computer, because I would always have people to play with me. Everybody wants to be in the presence of royalty, so my loyal subjects would be lining up every day to visit me, and they would all want to stroke my ears, rub my tummy, and give me nice bum massages.

2. If everyone knew that I am a Princess, I wouldn't have to stay behind when Laura goes out, because nobody would dare to say that a Princess couldn't come into their house.

3. If everyone knew that I am a Princess, I wouldn't have to walk anywhere anymore. Every time Laura wanted to go for a walk, my loyal subjects would build a chariot for me and they would carry me in it, so I could be with Laura on her walks and still sleep.

That's a story I would like to read.

When I told Laura about it, however, she said, "Thank you, Princess Kendal" in that way people do when they're being polite but they're not really going to use your idea.

Hmph!

Good plans however one or two minor drawbacks:
1) You'd get fat from lack of exercise as your "subjects" would be carrying you everywhere.

2) Current favourite games would be a thing of a past due to:
a) Assassination attempts
b) They'd bring things like your ball back for you instead of letting you have the fun
c) They'd decide that a lot of things were beneath you and therefore you couldn't have the fun.

3) You'd have someone advising you all about protocol. Ie All that fuss you'd mentioned wouldn't be allowed to happen until you'd been properly introduced and you know how long that takes. Just as its all done they bugger off.

1. Fat? What's so bad about being fat?

2. Well, one of my favourite things to do is sleep. I'm pretty sure they let Princesses do that. If other people want to fetch my toys for me, I'd be good with that. So long as Laura and I can still play with my towel, I don't see a problem.

3. Hmmm. I would be sad if I didn't get to spend time with my friends. Will have to think about this some more.

LOL! One of my dogs thinks she's a princess, too. And then, there's the prince.

Hang in there, pup! Maybe Laura will write you into one of her stories.

And THEN, she'll play ball or take you for a walk.
